Conflict Resolution and Analysis Certificate

The certificate provides the interdisciplinary academic study of and the practical tools to analyze and resolve conflicts in a variety of settings. The Certificate is appropriate for students planning to work in many fields, including but not limited to law, law enforcement, human resources, communication, business, and government.

Students are required to take courses as specified below and to declare the Certificate.

Prerequisite Courses


Required: 6 hours

Students must complete the following two courses before enrolling in the practicum or negotiation in practice courses.

Required: 3 hours

Students must complete one of the following two courses. Other course from the following list can count as a restricted elective towards the completion of this certificate.

6 hours from the following list:

Students must satisfy the prerequisites, if any, for each course before enrolling in the class.

Other Requirements

  • A minimum overall GPA of 2.0 is required in courses used to satisfy the certificate.
  • No credit by exam (TSD, Military credit) may be used.
  • Internship or Independent Study credit cannot be used toward the certificate.
  • At least 12 hours used in the program must be earned at UCF
  • Course Substitutions must be approved by the department in advance.
