The Legal Studies minor is well suited for students seeking to understand the ubiquitous role of law in society, those preparing for careers in the legal profession and planning for careers that deal with legal issues. This minor is available to students from varied disciplines, and students who pursue the legal studies minor may find this knowledge useful for positions in government, public policy, human resources, and business.

Restricted Electives (15 Credit Hours)

Restricted Upper Division Electives

  • 15 Semester hours of Legal Studies courses.
  • The 15 hours must include at least one (1) course from at least three (3) areas of concentration.

Family Matters (3 Credit Hours)

International Law (3 Credit Hours)

  • None

Total Undergraduate Credit Hours Required: 18

Other Requirements

  • A minimum grade of “C” (2.0) is required in each course to satisfy the minor.
  • At least 15 hours used in the minor must be earned at UCF within the department.
  • No credit by exam (TSD, Military credit) may be used.
  • Internship or Independent Study credit cannot be used toward the minor.
