The Diversity and Social Inequality Minor examines the social class, status, and power in contemporary global society. The minor facilities an understanding of social inequalities related to age, gender, race and ethnicity, social class and stratification, sexual orientation, religion, and family. The minor prepares students for careers and graduate school in a variety of fields, including those in non-profit agencies, human resources, and service organizations.

Minor Admission Requirements

• The minor is not open to Sociology majors.
• Courses used to satisfy the Restricted Electives of this minor cannot be used to satisfy other Sociology minors.

Minor Requirements

• Students are expected to have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the minor and earn a “C” or better in each course used to satisfy the minor.
• At least 15 hours used in the minor must be earned at UCF within the department of Sociology.

Prerequisite Courses

• Students must satisfy each course’s prerequisites before enrolling in the class.
